Our flagship home, The Hollywood Beach Bungalow, is where our journey began into the vacation rental home and guest hospitality industry in 2016. Not unlike many others, we “stumbled into” this industry. It wasn’t a plan. Having worked in Los Angeles’ photography and film industry for over 25 years, our founder brought with her production and professional creative experience to the table, proving to be essential skills necessary to succeed in the hospitality industry..

Founder | Business Operations and Creative Lead.
Joan is a Southern California native. She has spent over 25 years in the photography industry and has been included in several of the most prestigious awards. As a professional photographer and business owner with decades of production and creative experience, she brings invaluable experience to the short term and mid-term vacation rental home industry.
In 2016, with the purchase of her home, The Hollywood Beach Bungalow, this new journey in the short term home rental industry began. With the combination of her professional creative experience and the skills she learned in the Los Angeles (and beyond) film and photography production industries, the perfect ingredients were blended into a recipe for success. She will likely tell you, however, that her true life navigation experience began at home when she was born into a beautifully chaotic family of nine with four dogs, a cat or two, two pianos and multiple other musical instruments, various hamsters, a newt and an aquarium, just to name a few. She would go into her bedroom every few months (which was shared with a minimum of 2-3 other siblings), close the door and clean and re-arrange all the furniture, each time, creating a controlled beautiful haven in which to feel relaxed.
She still actively enjoys her photography assignments, and specializes in interiors, travel and portraits. She personally photographs nearly all of the rēlx properties.
She has worked as a Creative Director, Photo Director and Photo Editor with a variety of home decor and international travel publishing companies including Chairish and EBTH.com.
She consults creatively with homeowner clients on creating a perfectly welcoming and luxuriously casual environment which will put their guest at ease the moment they walk through the front door.
